Terms of Service

By accessing and using API Butler ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

API Butler is a service that allows users to convert CSV files into RESTful APIs. The Service provides:

• CSV file upload and parsing
• Automatic API endpoint generation
• Data hosting and management
• API access via unique endpoints
• Dashboard for managing your APIs

To use the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your password
• Be responsible for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
• Not share your account credentials

The Service operates on a subscription basis:

• Subscription fees are billed monthly in advance
• All payments are processed securely through Stripe
• Fees are non-refundable except as required by law
• You may cancel your subscription at any time
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice

You may change your subscription plan at any time. The following conditions apply:

• Upgrades take effect immediately. Your billing is adjusted pro-rata for the remainder of the current cycle.
• Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access to your current plan's features until then.
• After a downgrade, access to features and resources that exceed the new plan's limits will be restricted. Existing data is not deleted immediately, but you may need to reduce usage to stay within limits.

Each subscription plan includes defined usage limits, which may include:

• Number of APIs you can create
• Number of rows per CSV file
• Number of API requests per day
• Storage capacity for uploaded files

These limits exist because our infrastructure costs scale with usage. If you consistently approach or exceed your plan limits, we may throttle requests, notify you to upgrade, or temporarily restrict access. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate before taking any such action.

The Service is intended for legitimate use within the scope of your plan. You agree not to:

• Artificially inflate usage through automated or scripted requests designed to circumvent limits
• Share access to your API endpoints in ways that effectively bypass per-account limits
• Use the Service in a way that disproportionately burdens our infrastructure relative to your plan
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or manipulate rate limiting, throttling, or quota enforcement

Violations of this fair use policy may result in throttling, suspension, or termination of your account.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Upload or distribute malicious code or malware
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe upon intellectual property rights
• Engage in any fraudulent or deceptive practices
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' data
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or offensive

You retain all rights to the data you upload to the Service. By uploading data, you grant us a limited license to:

• Store and process your data to provide the Service
• Make your data available via the API endpoints you create
• Create backups and ensure data reliability

We do not claim ownership of your data and will not use it for purposes other than providing the Service.

You are solely responsible for the data you upload to API Butler. This includes ensuring that:

• You have the legal right to upload and process the data
• The data does not contain personal information of third parties without appropriate legal basis
• The data does not violate any applicable laws, including data protection regulations
• Your use of generated API endpoints complies with any applicable access or sharing restrictions

We do not review uploaded content and accept no liability for data that violates these requirements.

We work to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service, specific uptime targets, or error-free operation. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

• Scheduled or emergency maintenance
• Infrastructure incidents at our hosting providers
• Circumstances beyond our reasonable control

We will make reasonable efforts to communicate planned downtime in advance and to restore service as quickly as possible.

We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. This includes changes to features, API behavior, plan structures, and supported file formats. Where changes are material, we will notify users with reasonable advance notice. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated version.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, API Butler shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, revenue, or business opportunities — arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

In any case, our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of security vulnerabilities.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless API Butler from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Berlin, Germany.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
